Frequently Asked Questions
Mini PC or all-in-one panel PC — which one do I need?
If the application already has a screen, or needs no screen at all, buy an OCTIMUS mini PC and connect it to what you have. If an operator has to touch something, buy a KEL all-in-one PC: the touch screen, the computer and the serial I/O arrive as one unit, so a kiosk face or a control cabinet takes one device instead of two.
How much AI performance should I pay for?
TOPS is how many AI operations the NPU runs per second. One camera doing simple detection is fine on 1 TOPS (OCTIMUS B). Kiosk vision, QR reading or inspection sits at 6 TOPS (OCTIMUS X, OCTIMUS STEAM, KEL-XL, KEL-21L). Several streams at once, or a language model running on the device itself, needs 160 TOPS (OCTIMUS Max).
What is the difference between KEL-X and KEL-XL, or KEL-21 and KEL-21L?
The L models add a 6 TOPS NPU. Screen size, resolution and serial ports stay the same, so the choice is only whether the panel has to recognise something — a face, a QR code, a plate — at the screen instead of sending it to a server.
Are all eight models fanless?
Yes. Heat leaves through the enclosure rather than through a fan, so there is no fan to seize, no filter to clean and no dust path into the machine — which is why fanless is the standard choice for sealed cabinets, roadside enclosures and equipment running 24/7.
