Is the KEL-X an all-in-one PC, or does it need a separate computer?
It is an all-in-one PC. The 10.1 inch 800×1280 touch screen, the computer and the RS232/485/TTL ports are in one fanless unit, so there is no second box to mount and no fan or filter in the cabinet face. A mini PC would still need a monitor and the cabling to it; the KEL-X does not.
Can it drive our card reader or PLC over RS485?
Yes. RS232, RS485 and TTL are all on the panel, and most industrial peripherals speak one of those three, so no converter is needed inside the cabinet.
KEL-X or KEL-XL — which one do we need?
Both use the same 10.1 inch 800×1280 panel and the same RS232/485/TTL ports. The KEL-XL adds a 6 TOPS NPU and a Cortex-A72+A53 CPU. Take the XL only if the panel itself has to run AI, such as face or object recognition at the door.
