What is an industrial mini PC?
An industrial mini PC — also called a fanless embedded box PC — is a small computer built to live inside equipment: a self-service kiosk, a vending machine, a signage screen, a gateway cabinet or a vehicle. Unlike an office mini PC it has no fan, its ports are the serial and network types that machines use, and it is designed to be switched on and left alone for years.
OCTIMUS is the OCTALANES industrial mini PC line. Every model is fanless — heat leaves through the enclosure, so there is no fan to seize, no filter to clean and no path for dust into the machine — and every model has an NPU, so AI work such as camera detection, QR reading or a language model runs on the device instead of in the cloud. How to choose an industrial mini PC
1. Start from the AI workload, not the price
1 TOPS (OCTIMUS B) is enough for signage playback and machine control. 6 TOPS (OCTIMUS X, OCTIMUS STEAM) covers kiosk vision, QR reading and inspection. 160 TOPS (OCTIMUS Max) is for several camera streams at once, or a language model running on the device itself.
2. Match the display output to the screen
4K output (OCTIMUS B) is the standard for signage and vending screens. 8K output (OCTIMUS X, OCTIMUS STEAM) is for large-format or multi-screen displays. A mini PC has no screen of its own — if you need touch and computer in one unit, look at the KEL panel PCs instead.
3. Count the ports the machine already uses
